ABOUT

Corvina Huntington, more commonly known as Lady Impaler or the Huntress of Huntington, is the fifth-born child and only daughter of Lord Nestor Huntington and Lady Branwen Huntington, née Stout, of Thornhill.

Growing up with four older turdstains—Arden, Lark, Robyn, and Wren— for brothers, not one of them gentle, protective, or kind, Corvina learned from a young age that crying wouldn't get her anywhere, that her tears were nothing more than a game to them. The only way to endure and survive her siblings was to fightโ —both figuratively and literally.

In dealing with her brothers and their constant roughhousing, Corvina became crafty and swift-footed to counter their strength. She also became extremely competitive, her father's disinterest in her due to her gender something Corvina desperately strived to change by living up to the Huntington name and proving herself to be just as sharp, ruthless, and instinctive as her siblings. Although engaging in behaviour like this was highly unladylike, deeply inappropriate, and would often raise the ire of her mother, Corvina found she was far better at being a boy than she was a girl. Her skill at hunting, riding, and trapping eventually rivalling, if not outright surpassing, all four of her brothers.

Because of Corvina's harsh upbringing that ranged from abusive to neglectful, she does not trust easily and looks upon acts of goodwill with suspicion, expecting cruel trickery to follow. Though she knows her courtesies, how to smile, and has a surprisingly pleasant singing voice, all of which she is more than capable of using in a superficially charming way, her place in Westerosi society often feels non-existent to her as Corvina wants more than to be married off and cooped up in some lordling's castle, devoid of purpose, except to bear his children and give him sons. Her rebellion against centuries of tradition and preference for spending her days as a hunter is as often discouraged by her mother as it is her septa, who fear no match will ever be made for Corvina if they do not clip her wings. Yet try as they might, Corvina remains intractable and determined to fly free.

Her weapon of choice is throwing knives, which she uses to pin and impale her prey before delivering the killing blow.

With the great grey shrike's northern breeding grounds predominantly taking place at Thornhill, Corvina has grown up with the carnivorous bird emblazoned on her family's coat of arms, even managing to tame one after rescuing it, which she uses to skewer ravens and steal their messages, a feat made all the more formidable given the messenger birds are twice its size. She named the shrike Pierce for his species' particular way of hunting.

Eventually Corvina would capture the attention of Lord Bolton, her shrike spywork and reputation preceding her. This would lead on to Corvina earning herself a place in her overlord's household as one of his hunters, a position her scornful brothers had been vying for for years, unbelieving that Lord Bolton would bestow such an honor on a girl, of all people, instead of them.

THORNHILL

Thornhill is the seat of House Huntington in the North. It is situated northwest of the Dreadfort and lies on the border of the Lonely Hills.

A modest holdfast built from stone, Thornhill was aptly named for the tall hill which it sits upon and the scores of thorny bushes and shrubbery that encircle the keep, the height, thickness, and lethality of the vegetation providing layers of protection to Thornhill's outer walls. In these bushes can also be found many a shrikes' nest.

Without cutting a path through the towering thorns and their wide girth, there is only a single entry point into the holdfast, which is the Briar Rose Gate

Corvina's canon point is BC centered around the Bolton-Greystark rebellion against the Starks of Winterfell as part of a wider prequel 'verse. However, on and around memes, I am more than willing to tweak things to write her into the events of A Song of Ice and Fire, Game of Thrones, and even House of the Dragon should anyone writing any George R. R. Martin characters be interested.
